Gujarat: CM Bhupendra Patel allocates Rs 316.78 crore for Vadodara Ring Road

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], August 17 : Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday allocated Rs 316.78 crore for the construction of a Ring Road in Vadodara under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
In response to Vadodara's continuous growth and expanding industrial areas, and to ease traffic congestion, the Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) presented a proposal to the Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM), highlighting the necessity of the Ring Road.
Upon reviewing the proposal, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel approved Rs 316.78 crore for the Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) to advance the Ring Road project.
The Vadodara Ring Road will extend 66 kilometres in length and 75 meters in width.
In the initial phase, funds were allocated for constructing a 27.58-kilometer stretch with a width of 45 meters.
With this allocation, construction for the first phase of the 27.58-kilometer Ring Road will progress rapidly.
The work will cover 10.70 kilometres in the eastern region and 16.84 kilometres in the western region.
Additionally, the Ring Road will help ease traffic congestion on routes leading to the Statue of Unity, Ekta Nagar, and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway 8.
The 16.84-kilometer stretch in the western region will not only ease traffic but also spur development in the surrounding areas.
