New Delhi [India], August 4 : Targeting the Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhilesh Yadav over the Ayodhya gang rape case, Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi said on Sunday that everybody knows about Akhilesh's sentiments and he should not try to save anybody till the probe completes.
"In connection with the Ayodhya incident, an FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party leaders and they have been arrested. Everybody knows about Akhilesh Yadav's sentiments; he should not try to save anybody till the probe is completed," Tyagi said.
A delegation of the BJP led by Rajya Sabha MP Baburam Nishad met the victim's family in Ayodhya today.
After the meeting, Nishad said, "We spoke to the victim's mother and we will submit the entire report to the national leadership. Our Uttar Pradesh government is not going to spare the accused who committed this crime. Akhilesh Yadav talks about DNA testing. He talks about PDA but he cannot see and hear the pain of this daughter. The government will take such action against them (accused) that many generations will remember it. I request CM Yogi Adityanath to increase the financial amount of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh."
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also targeted Akhilesh Yadav and said that the PDA has been sidelined in front of the vote bank.
"Akhilesh Yadav is now silent who used to talk a lot about PDA (Picchda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak). But today, when such an atrocity happened with a girl from PDA then he is silent. He demanded of DNA test. Isn't he trying to give a clean chit to the accused? The goons of the Samajwadi Party went to the hospital to threaten the family of the victim. The workers of the Samajwadi Party have done this. Dimple Yadav is also silent on the matter. PDA has been sidelined in front of the vote bank," Poonawalla said.
Earlier today, Akhilesh Yadav ay urged the court to ensure the Ayodhya rape victim's safety considering the sensitivity and seriousness of the matter.
In a post on X, Akhilesh said, "The government should ensure the best medical care for the rape victim. The government is responsible for protecting the girl's life. I humbly request the Honorable Court to take suo motu cognizance of the situation and ensure the victim's safety under its supervision, considering the sensitivity and seriousness of the matter."
"The malicious intent of certain individuals to politicize such incidents should never succeed," he added in the post.
On Saturday, echoing the demand of Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad to conduct a DNA test in the case of the gang rape of a minor girl, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav said that DNA tests should be done on the rape accused to deliver justice to the victim.
