Jul 27, 2024

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 27 : The Regional Meteorological Department, Bhopal, has issued a warning for very heavy rainfall in six districts of Madhya Pradesh over the next 24 hours. This includes Satna, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Pandhurna, and Sidhi.
These districts are likely to receive between 115 mm and 204 mm of rain, with the potential for significant impacts due to the ongoing monsoon conditions, officials said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, incessant rainfall in the last 48 hours has caused waterlogging in various areas of the state capital, Bhopal.
"Monsoon conditions are active throughout the state, with rainfall occurring in most districts. The rain is expected to continue as the monsoon trough line is currently passing over Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is likely to bring beneficial conditions to Madhya Pradesh in the next two days, resulting in heavy rainfall across the state," said BS Yadav, a meteorologist with the regional met department, Bhopal.
In Bhopal, significant rainfall is expected today and tomorrow, though it may decrease slightly afterward, Yadav added.
Yadav said that for the next 24 hours, an alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall in Satna, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Pandhurna, and Sidhi, with rainfall expected between 115 mm and 204 mm. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in 16 other districts.
Currently, most districts in the state are witnessing normal rainfall, except for some in the northeastern region. Satna, Sidhi, Rewa, and Singrauli have received less than normal rainfall, but they are expected to return to normal levels in the next spell of rain, Yadav concluded.
