Himachal CM Sukhu inaugurates 32 MW Pekhubela solar power project in Una

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 20 : Himachal Chief Minister Sukhinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday inaugurated a 32 MW Solar Power project at a public meeting at Pekhubela in Una.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, MLA Sudarshan Babloo and Vivek Sharma (Vicku), Managing Director HPSEBL Harikesh Meena, Director Personnel and Finance Shivam Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jatin lal.
While addressing the people he said that Una district is treading towards becoming a hub for power generation, with plans to harness more 150 MW through solar energy in the near future.
In order to fulfil the power requirement of the Bulk Drug Park at Haroli, the Chief Minister directed the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation to harness 500 MW of additional solar energy and directed the officials to take necessary steps to achieve this goal. The Bulk Drug Park alone would require 150 MW of power.
Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also congratulated the residents of Una district on this occasion and appreciated the efforts of the officers and the officials for completing it well in record time.
Sukhu claimed that by 2027 the Government aims to make Himachal Pradesh a self-reliant State and is committed to economic prosperity and promoting pollution-free power generation and this project was a milestone in this direction.
Apart from generation of hydropower, the focus was now to generate the green hydrogen production and solar power, he further stated.
Apart from all of these actions, investments were also being made in the tourism sector to transform Himachal into a tourism hub and several new schemes are also underway in this direction.
