Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], February 24 : The Leader of Opposition in the Himachal Assembly, Jairam Thakur, on Saturday lashed out at Himachal government and said that it failed on every front and the state is running on the support of central schemes.
"Today Himachal Pradesh is moving forward only with the help of the schemes of the Centre. Whatever development work is going on in the state is being run by the Center only. The state government has failed on every front. Apart from empty talk, the Sukhu government is not doing anything," he lashed out.
Apprecisting the Modi government for empowering women, he said that the Central Government brought the Nari Shakti Vandan Act to ensure representation of mother power in the legislature. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is providing benefits to crores of women of the country by making the Central Government schemes women-centric," he added.
Taking a dig at the Sukhu government for making excuses for not giving Nari Samman Nidhi, he said that the state government is announcing the launch of the scheme from such places where the number of women can be counted on fingers. "Whereas the promise was to give to 23 lakh women," he added.
Further hurling criticism over the Sukhu government for "acting imaturely in the matter of Bulk Drug and Medical Devices Park," he said that every day the state is getting some kind of help from the Central Government and new schemes are coming. A day earlier, our National President JP Nadda had gone to AIIMS Bilaspur to dedicate machines providing world-class medical facilities and now a day later, the Prime Minister is going to lay the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art Critical Care Hospital in Una.
"This hospital is no less than a boon for seriously ill patients," he added.
The Leader of Opposition said that it is clear from the second budget of the Sukhu government that this government is not working seriously nor has any intention of taking the state on the path of development.
"The budget is the roadmap for the accomplishment of the government's resolutions, but the budget of the Sukhu government is just a copy of the first budget, in which the announced plans are waiting for the government to implement them. Now only one voice is coming from within the government and from the public that this government is not in control. There is an atmosphere of despair everywhere," concluded Jairam Thakur.
