Himachal govt decides to set up Rajya Chayan Aayog for recruitment of various Group-C posts

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 14 : Himachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a cabinet meeting has decided to set up Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog to conduct examinations for the recruitment of various Group-C posts in various departments of the state government.
Briefing the media at the meeting, Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said that the cabinet has decided to set up a Selection commission for the recruitment of various Group-C posts in various departments and boards of the state government
Chauhan further explained that the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog would be led by a senior IAS officer as the Chief Administrator, with a finance controller and a director of IT also appointed to the service commission.
Additionally, in an effort to combat the issue of drug abuse in Himachal Pradesh, the cabinet has decided to fill 1226 positions for special commandos in the state. These positions include 877 for males, 292 for females, and 57 for drivers.
The cabinet has also decided to allot land to the industrial sector, we shall also allot land to Ayush, IT and others. The cabinet also decided to start The ‘Mukhyamantri Laghu Dukandar Kalyan Yojna- 2023’ a loan of 50 thousand rupees will be given to 75000 such people in rural areas and 50 per cent rebate would be provided to them.”
Highlighting the government's commitment to Hindi as the primary language for official communication and its initiatives to support small businesses and education in the state,“The cabinet also decided to increase the salaries of SMC teachers by 2000 rupees. Most of the files are also dealt in Hindi language in the government,” Harshvardhan Chauhan added.
Earlier, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu demanded the Union government to declare the disaster in Himachal as a national disaster.
CM Sukhu said that he had put forth this demand with the Prime Minister during the G20 dinner.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday announced a short-term rent payment scheme and said that the state government has decided to provide Rs 5000 rent in Rural and Rs 10000 in Urban areas to affected families in relief camps, an official release said.
The Scheme will be in force till March 31, 2024.
