Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu directs to start special campaign to settle all pending revenue cases

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 15 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in a review meeting of the Revenue Department on Tuesday, directed the launch of a special campaign to settle all pending revenue cases. He noted that while cases were being resolved through Revenue Lok Adalats, there was a need to expedite the process. He emphasised that people should be spared repeated visits to government offices, and revenue officers must prioritise this issue.
CM Sukhu reiterated the government's commitment to providing services at people's doorsteps, stressing the importance of resolving pending revenue cases. He instructed all Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to clear all correction cases by October 31, 2024.
The Chief Minister also asked the Deputy Commissioners to appoint a nodal officer in each district to review pending revenue matters and submit reports to the government, ensuring timely case resolution. He added that Deputy Commissioners had been authorised to fill vacant positions up to Naib Tehsildar, with an adequate budget allocated for this purpose. He confirmed that he would review the matter again in November.
The Chief Minister also assessed the progress of relief efforts for victims of last year's disaster. He highlighted that the current state government had released Rs 4,500 crore as a special relief package for those affected, ensuring full support for the affected families.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, OSD to the Chief Minister Gopal Sharma, Settlement Officer Aditya Negi, and other senior officials attended the meeting, while all Deputy Commissioners joined virtually.
