Himachal Pradesh: Governor pats back of CM Sukhu for efforts taken after natural calamity

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 28 : Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has praised Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government's efforts in tackling the situation caused by heavy rains and landslides in the state.
After meeting the Chief Minister on Monday, the Governor said “The entire state is with the affected families in this natural calamity. Various steps taken by the state government in this hour of crisis are commendable. Rescue and relief operations were carried out on a war footing, which brought great relief to the people.”
Notably, NITI Aayog has already praised the Sukhwinder Singh government for their Rescue and relief works in the state.
During the meeting with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, the Chief Minister informed about the loss of life and property due to heavy rains, floods, cloud bursts and landslides in the state. He also informed about the relief work being done by the state government in the affected areas and the work done for the rehabilitation of the affected.
He said that the situation is gradually becoming normal in the state and the road and transport system is being made smooth.
The Chief Minister also informed the Governor about the forthcoming monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from September 18 to 25 in Shimla.
Earlier on August 27, The Indian Air Force, which has been fully involved in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in Himachal Pradesh following the recent flood situation and landslides, continued its relief work and distributing relief material in far-flung areas.
Till now, at least 367 people have died in Himachal Pradesh in rain-related incidents this year since the onset of the monsoon, the State Disaster Management Authority said on Friday.
In accordance with official data, an average of about seven individuals have been losing their lives daily in rain-linked occurrences within the hill state since the monsoon's commencement on June 24.
Over the span of two weeks, Himachal Pradesh has witnessed significant landslides occurring in various locations, the most recent being in Kullu on Thursday.
