Himachal Pradesh: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla distributes relief materials to affected families

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 16 : Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited the rain-battered Krishnanagar in Shimla on Wednesday. He met the affected families at the community hall, assessed their losses, and distributed relief materials. 
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said, "The state government is providing all possible help. We are all engaged in providing all possible help at the earliest. SDM has been ordered to cut down the remaining trees which have become a threat to the houses. Around 250-300 families are staying in this shelter home and community center." 
Several houses have collapsed in Krishnanagar due to heavy rains and landslides and other houses are at risk. The affected persons told that they have been given alternative accommodation here. 
The Governor further said, "This is the hour of disaster, every person should come forward to help. The state government is providing relief at every level. As the president of the State Red Cross, I have come here to distribute relief material through the Red Cross. Apart from this, basic facilities should be provided for the affected families who have been kept here at the center." 
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh and National Red Cross Management Committee member Dr Sadhna Thakur were also present on the occasion.
