Himachal: Shimla Dy Commissioner holds meeting in view of International Lavi Fair

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 7 : Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Aditya Negi, held a meeting at the Mini Secretariat Auditorium in Rampur Bushahr in Shimla district to review preparations for the upcoming 'International Lavi Fair', according to an official statement.
The 'Lavi Mela' is scheduled to be organized from November 11 to 14.
As per the release, Aditya Negi, in his address said that the International Lavi Fair will be organized in the grounds of PG College, Rampur and the cultural evening will be organized at Padma Government Senior Secondary School, Rampur.
He further informed that the fair will be inaugurated by the Governor and the closing ceremony will be graced by the presence of the Chief Minister, said the official statement.
Transparency will be maintained in the allotment of stalls during the Lavi Fair so that the problem of sub-letting can be solved and goods can be made available to the rural people at reasonable prices, said the Deputy Commissioner at the meeting.
During the fair, exhibitions will be organized by various departments on the public welfare policies of the present state government so that people can get information about the inclusive schemes and benefit from them, he added.
According to the press release, Deputy Commissioner Negi discussed income expenditure and sanitation system with the Municipal Council, electricity supply with the Electricity Department and drinking water system with the Jal Shakti Department.
He also talked to the Transport Department about facilitating transport to rural areas through buses.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Fire Department of Rampur to repair the fire hydrants so that any possible disaster could be faced efficiently, the official statement said.
The police department was also directed to install CCTV cameras at sensitive places by Deputy Commissioner Negi so that anti-social elements can be monitored closely, added the official statement.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner held a detailed discussion on the horse exhibition to be held from November 4 to 6 and announced that the prize money in horse racing be increased to Rs 10,000, according to the official statement.
Earlier, SDM Rampur, Nishant Tomar, conducted the meeting and informed about the activities of various fairs, according to the press release.
District Council Shimla President Chandraprabha Negi, District Council member Trilok Baluni, Municipal Council Rampur Vice President Ashwini Negi, DSP Rampur Shivani Mehla, and dignitaries were also present at the meeting, added the press release.
