Home Minister Amit Shah unveils development projects worth over Rs 1000 cr in Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], August 18 : Ahead of the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah presented development projects valued at an estimated Rs 1003 crore to Ahmedabad.
According to an official release, "45 development projects by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, worth Rs 1003 crore, were e-launched and had their foundation stones laid during the event. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also remained present on the occasion."
The dignitaries, including Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, flagged off the 'Door to Door Waste Collection' van. The Union Home Minister also interacted with the residents.
Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Gujarat Government and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the e-inauguration and foundation stone laying of public development projects worth Rs 1003 crore in the Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad Lok Sabha areas.
He noted that Ahmedabad alone saw the inauguration of 21 projects worth Rs 730 crore and the laying of foundation stones for 4 new development projects in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha area.
Additionally, 18 projects were inaugurated and foundation stones for 2 development projects were laid in the East and West Lok Sabha areas. These projects span various development sectors, including sanitation, health, sports, and environmental conservation.
The Union Minister further mentioned that over the past five years, the State Government and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation have annually invested around Rs 5000 crore in development projects for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
This significant investment is driving continuous and dynamic progress in Ahmedabad city and the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
Speaking further, the Union Home Minister stated that, as a response to the pressing issues of climate change, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign.
He noted that planting trees is the most fitting way to honour our mothers' love.
"The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has committed to planting 30 lakh trees within 100 days under the 'Mission 3 Million Trees' initiative. Similarly, other cities across the country have embraced this campaign, transforming it into a significant public movement," he said.
The Union Minister urged the people of Ahmedabad to actively participate in tree planting.
He mentioned that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation aims to plant 30 lakh trees in 100 days for future generations, adding that the corporation has also established oxygen parks throughout the city, and every resident is encouraged to contribute actively to this effort.
"If every resident realizes their moral duty and plants as many trees as there are members in their household, the city can be transformed into a green city within just two years. Let us all resolve today to plant more trees in our communities, on vacant lands, and in children's schools, nurturing them as we would our children. We must act promptly to address the serious issues of global warming," he stated.
Discussing the development of the state and city, the Union Home Minister noted that, due to effective leadership and good governance, Gujarat and the entire country have re-elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the third consecutive term.
"Ahmedabad will be developed to achieve Viksit Ahmedabad as a step towards Viksit Gujarat in the future. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is continuously working to improve the well-being and ease of living of its people. The new developments, including gyms, swimming pools, and oxygen parks, inaugurated today, will contribute to enhancing the residents' quality of life," he added.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel mentioned that the collaboration between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is the cornerstone of good governance.

Discussing the various development projects, the Chief Minister stated that Shri Amit Shah has inaugurated 45 distinct development works, valued at Rs 1003 crore, for the people in the Gandhinagar Parliamentary Constituency and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area, all within a single day.
In his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined the vision for a Viksit Bharat by improving the Quality of Life for middle-class families nationwide.
"To support this vision, a range of development initiatives are being introduced today to enhance both the Quality of Life and Ease of Living for urban residents," he said.
The Chief Minister noted that various development projects aimed at cleanliness, convenience, and well-being will make Smart City and Mega City Ahmedabad more accessible and liked by its residents.
He also observed that, ahead of Raksha Bandhan, Amit Shah is providing gifts of diverse development projects to the women and their families in the city.
"Projects such as the vegetable market, swimming pool, pink toilet, oxygen park, and flyover bridge will significantly improve the 'Ease of Living' for urban residents," he added.
Discussing the development projects managed by AMC in the Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad Lok Sabha areas, the Chief Minister said that in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha area, development works worth Rs 676 crores have been inaugurated, and foundation stones have been laid for projects valued at Rs 10 crores.
Similarly, in Ahmedabad city, development works worth Rs 267 crore have been inaugurated, with foundation stones laid for projects amounting to Rs 49 crore.
He further stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have established a distinctive model of Good Governance in Gujarat.
Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that Rs 80 crore has been allocated to Ahmedabad from the State Government under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, with an additional Rs 277.60 crore designated for road projects.
"Amit Shah, as an exemplary Member of Parliament, has worked diligently for the development of the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituencies," he added.
Discussing the 'Ek Pad Maan Ke Naam' campaign, the Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this initiative to advance the vision of green growth.
"Leading this effort, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has committed to planting 30 lakh trees in just 100 days under the 'Mission Three Million Trees'. The corporation is actively planting trees across 48 wards and seven zones of the city. In this context, Amit Shah has also contributed by participating in tree planting," he added.
The Chief Minister also described the Amrit Kaal of Azadi as a Kartavya Kaal for the nation's development, noting that the state government is dedicated to realizing the goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
In her welcome address, Mayor Smt Pratibha Jain stated that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is dedicated to fulfilling the vision of transforming Ahmedabad into Viksit Ahmedabad and contributing to the goal of Viksit Gujarat and Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The Mayor further mentioned that aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's resolution of 'Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay,' 45 development projects will be inaugurated today.
These projects are aimed at enhancing the well-being of citizens across various wards of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also inaugurated the newly constructed oxygen park and pond near Sindhu Bhavan Road in Ahmedabad, as well as the newly built swimming pool and gymnasium at Makarba.
Additionally, various development projects, including pink toilets, overbridges, door-to-door waste collection vans, and road, building, drainage, water, and school board projects, were inaugurated and had their foundation stones laid in different wards of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Ahmedabad MP Hasmukh Patel, Dinesh Makwana, and Narahari Amin, MLAs of Ahmedabad; Municipal Commissioner M. Thennarasan; Deputy Mayor Jatin Patel; Chairman of the Standing Committee Devang Dani; along with Councilors, AMC employees, officials, and other residents were present on this occasion.
