HP: Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industrial Association donates Rs 2 crore to Aapda Rahat Kosh

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 6 : A delegation of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industrial Association (BBNIA) led by its President Rajiv Aggarwal and General Secretary, Y S Guleria presented a cheque of Rs 2.02 crore to the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu towards 'Aapda Rahat Kosh' here on Thursday following the recent floods and landslides in the hill state.
"The Chief Minister thanked the Association for this noble gesture and said that the State Government was diligently working to facilitate the entrepreneurs and bring new investments in the State," according to a press release from the Chief Minister's office.
"The government is committed to strengthening the infrastructure in the industrial areas and has laid special emphasis on upgrading the road connectivity besides providing rail connectivity. The issue has been taken with the Union Government to connect the industrial belt with rail connectivity at the earliest," Sukhu said.
"The State Government is upgrading the Nalagarh-Bharatgarh road as a four-lane to facilitate the industrialists and other commuters. Many renowned big business houses have expressed their desire to invest in Himachal Pradesh and the State Government would provide all logistic support to them," he said.
The Chief Minister also assured them that their genuine demands will be considered sympathetically.
"Industries Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan, Director, Industries Rakesh Prajapati, OSD to Chief Minister, Gopal Sharma, Principal Private Secretary to Chief Minister, Vivek Bhatia and representatives of BBNIA were also present in the meeting," stated the press release.
Persistent rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has resulted in multiple landslides and cloudbursts in various areas. According to officials, the current monsoon season has claimed the lives of 400 individuals in rain-related incidents and caused damage to more than 13,000 houses. Incessant rains in Himachal Pradesh have led to multiple landslides and cloudbursts in several places.
