Hyderabad: Couple killed, teen injured after fire breaks out at double-storey building near Yakatpura railway station

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 29 : A couple was killed and a teenager was injured after a massive fire broke out in a double-story building at East Chandra Nagar, near Yakatpura railway station in Hyderabad, officials said.
The deceased were identified as Usharani (50) and her husband Mohan Lal (58). Their 18-year-old daughter, Shruthi also sustained injuries in the blaze.
Hyderabad district fire official, Srinivas Reddy, said the fire broke out at around 11 pm on Monday, following which fire tenders were sent to the spot.
"A fire broke out in a double-story building at East Chandra Nagar, near Yakatpura railway station, around 11 pm on Monday night. Shortly after receiving information about the incident, fire tenders reached the spot and controlled the fire," he said.
The fire officer informed that the injured victim has been admitted to Osmania General Hospital.
"The building's first floor, where pastries were being cooked, caught fire, spreading to nearby crackers cotton boxes stored for sale. Usharani and her husband Mohan Lal lost their lives and the 18-year-old Shruthi was injured and shifted to Osmania General Hospital," the fire official said.

Earlier on Sunday night, a massive fire broke out at a restaurant and a cracker shop in Hyderabad's Sultan Bazar area damaging multiple vehicles and leaving one woman with minor injuries.
The fire had erupted at a restaurant and spread into a nearby cracker shop, the officials said.
Following this, fire officers rushed to the spot, and the fire was doused at around 10:45 pm.
