Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao visits Ganesh pandal, offers prayers

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 16 : Devotees thronged in large numbers at Ganesh Pandal, based on the Ramayan theme in Telangana's Hyderabad. Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao also visited and offered prayers to Lord Ganesh.
"...Whenever you begin any new work--be it starting any shop, any business, or building a home--every time Lord Ganesh is worshipped first. I hope such things will continue so that the next generation can understand that patriotism and devotion should be practiced together," said V Hanumantha Rao on Sunday.
Another pandal in Hyderabad gathered huge attention because of its unique features. The pandal has been installed to show solidarity against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. Prominent personalities have been visiting Ganesh pandals to offer prayers across various cities.
Vice Chief of Indian Army Staff, Lieutenant General N S Raja Subramani, performed the evening maha aarti at Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandal in Pune on Sunday.
The historic Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandal was originally installed by freedom fighter Shrimant Bhausaheb in 1892. This year the mandal celebrated its 133th year of public Ganeshotsav.
Singer-composer Kailash Kher and Paralympian Sachin Sarjerao Khilari have also visited the historic mandal before.
Earlier, Union Minister Piyush Goyal also paid obeisance to 'Lalbaugcha Raja' in Mumbai and expressed that he experienced a profound sense of tranquillity and energy as soon as he offered his respects at Ganpati Bappa's feet.
Ganesh Chaturthi, a 10-day festival that began on September 6, will continue until Anantha Chaturdashi. This festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi.
During Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Devotees across India and abroad celebrate Lord Ganesha's wisdom and intelligence.
