Hyderabad: Two people held for selling ganja, around 6 kg of contraband seized

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 27 : Hyderabad police on Wednesday apprehended two people for selling ganja in the capital city of the state. The police seized from them around 6 Kg of ganja.
According to the police, the accused, Mohd Javeed, 51, used to purchase Ganja from Vinod Singh, 45, for Rs 150 per sachet and sell the same to needy customers at a higher price as much as Rs 200 to 300 per sachet. The sachet weight is about 10 grammes.
The accused, Vinod Singh, regularly visits Seeleru in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam, where he approaches one person, Muttula Srinu, who provides Ganja to him after getting the same from an unknown person in Odisha State. After that, he comes to Hyderabad and sells the ganja to needy customers at a higher price, said the police.
On Wednesday, on receipt of credible information, Mohd Javeed waiting in his auto with Ganja at Meharban Hotel Junction to sell. Upon the information, the Taskforce South Zone team, SHO Moghalpura, SI S. Krishnakanth and staff rushed to the Meharban hotel junction and apprehended the accused, Mohd Javeed, along with 87 sealed transparent sachets of Ganja, weighing 800 grammes, said the police.
According to the police, Javeed led the police to Vinod Singh, who was waiting for the customers at Rani Avanti Bai Statue, Jummerat Bazar, Puranapool.
The police in Moghalpura apprehended Vinod Singh along with 242 sealed transparent sachets of Ganja weighing 2.2 kg and two packets wrapped with brown tape. One packet weighs 2 kg and another packet weighs 900 grammes. A total of 5 kg and 900 grammes of ganja were seized from the accused.
