"I am grateful to party and EC.." says Samajwadi Party leader Mohibullah Nadvi

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], March 30 : Samajwadi Party leader Maulana Mohibullah Nadvi confirmed his candidature for the Rampur constituency in the upcoming elections. Expressing gratitude towards the party leadership and the Election Commission, Nadvi stated that he is grateful.
"I had been considering myself as a candidate from the Samajwadi Party (for Rampur) since the day the party chief directed me to serve the people of Rampur. Now, the Election Commission has also approved it and I am grateful for that," Mohibullah Nadvi said.
Rampur is going to the polls in the first phase on April 19.
The Samajwadi Party on Thursday unveiled its list of prominent campaigners slated to bolster the party's electoral prospects in Uttar Pradesh in Lok Sabha polls. The list also includes jailed party leader Mohammed Azam Khan among the star campaigners.
The list includes the names of 40 leaders who will be star campaigners for the party in the state.
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Ramgopal Yadav, Jaya Bachhan, Dimple Yadav and Shivpal Singh Yadav are among the star campaigners.
Farmer leaders Tejendra Singh Virk and Harendra Tau from the 2019-2020 protest are among the Samajwadi Party's star campaigners.
Lok Sabha polls will be held in seven phases beginning April 19.
Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of MPs, 80, to Parliament, will vote in all seven phases.
Voting for phases one and two will be held on April 19 and April 26. Next, the state will once again poll in phases three and four on May 7 and May 13.
The Uttar Pradesh electorate will also vote in phases five, six and seven on May 20, May 23 and June 1 respectively. The votes will be counted on June 4.
Meanwhile on Friday, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav took on the BJP government at the state and the centre and said that inflation and unemployment are at their peak due to the wrong economic policies of the BJP government.
Akhilesh alleged, "BJP has created an economic crisis. Farmers, youth, women all are worried. BJP is misusing the government institutions of the country. Democracy is in danger under BJP government. Anti-constitutional work is being done. The voice of the opposition is being crushed. Uttar Pradesh is going through the worst phase of government anarchy. There is zero law and order in UP. No one's life is safe in UP."
