"If he comes to Odisha then I will become Godse": Congress lodges FIR against person for threatening Rahul Gandhi

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], June 6 : Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) on Thursday lodged an FIR against the person who allegedly threatened to kill Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Sivanand Roy vice president of OPCC handed over the FIR to the cyber crime police station in the presence of OPCC president Sarat Patnaik, Campaign committee chairman Bhakta Charan Das, AICC General secretary and Odisha Incharge Dr Ajay Kumar etc.
"Respectfully, we draw your kind attention for an online post in social media that a man @ "Bharat Cinema' has posted a text that "Congress will never come to my Odisha. If in future Pappu comes I will become Nathuram Godse," the Odisha Congress stated.
It further said that the person has also posted pictures of Rahul Gandhi and it is clear that the person is trying to target the Congress leader.
"Apart from this, he has also posted Photographs of our National Veteran leader Rahul Gandhi Ji. From the photographs, it is crystal clear that the representative of Bharat Cinema aiming Rahul Ji to kill by means of a pistol. It is a fact that Nathuram Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi as it was the decision of the RSS. We request you kindly investigate whether the organization "Bharat Cinema belongs to the same organization of ideology or not," it stated.
The Congress Odisha further requested to take adequate and scientific investigation into the matter.
"In the above statement of analysis, we request you that adequate and scientific investigation may be made to find out the truth of threatening them murder of Mr Gandhi and take necessary and immediate action may be taken against the culprit in the interest of justice," the letter stated.
Congress leader Biswaranjan Mohanty said that the Odisha Congress has filed a case against the person who threatened Rahul Gandhi.
"An FIR has been lodged against a Twitter handle in which a person has threatened to kill Rahul Gandhi and said that he will become Nathuram Godse to kill Rahul Gandhi when he (Rahul Gandhi) comes to Odisha. Odisha is a state of peace. A lot of political parties came, and many chief ministers came and went. An inquiry should be done. Who is the one who wants to become Nathuram Godse? A complaint has been lodged," he said.
BJP has won 78 Legislative Assembly seats out of 147 in the state.
After a massive defeat in the State Assembly and Parliamentary elections, the 24-year-old tenure of Odisha CM and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik concluded as he submitted his resignation to Odisha Governor Raghubar Das at the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The Biju Janata Dal, which has ruled Odisha since 1997, lost to the BJP, breaking the 24-year-old reign of Naveen Patnaik as the Chief Minister.
The Bharatiya Janata Party secured 78 seats in the 147-seat assembly. The BJD secured 51 seats way behind the majority mark of 74 and the Indian National Congress secured 14 seats. In the 2024 Lok Sabha polls also BJP performed well by securing 20 out of the 21 parliamentary seats of the state, the remaining one seat was won by the Congress.
