Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 12 : Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday in a veiled attack at Congress said that if the management of any company or a political party is based on dynastic control then that organization is sure to end in disaster.
Speaking at the 'North Tech Symposium-2023' organised by SIDM in Jammu, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said," In the case of companies, dynastic ownership can be justified, but managing the company at the dynastic level sometimes proves fatal for the company and its employees."
"If you assess the political scenario of India for the last few decades, you will find that there are some political parties that are running on dynastic control. And I do not need to tell you that if the management of any company or political party is based on dynastic control, it is sure to end in disaster," he added.
Rajnath Singh further claimed that the defence exports will reach the target of Rs 20,000 crores in the upcoming days.
"In the last financial year, our domestic defence production record has crossed Rs 1 lakh crores and the defence export record has crossed Rs 16,000 crores. Very soon, I will be able to say that our export has reached Rs 20,000 crores," he said.
He also mentioned that earlier there were complaints in the previous governments about corruption in defence procurement.
"There have been complaints of corruption and favouritism in defence procurement since the time of independence. You must have heard the saying that one dirty fish makes the whole pond dirty. Due to corruption and malpractices of such people, people started losing faith in institutions, which cannot be tolerated at all in a democratic country," he said.
He also urged the SIDM to have an internal evaluation mechanism in place.
"In the work of SIDM, many times we need quality assurance for export because the buyer would like to buy only high-quality equipment. We have always solved all the quality-related problems faced by SIDM. But friends, here we need to pay attention to the fact that the buyer or the government will definitely try to check the quality from their side, but apart from that you can make a system of internal evaluation yourself," he said.
Earlier today Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone of Nyoma Airfield in Eastern Ladakh virtually and said that one of the world’s highest airfields will boost the air infrastructure and would prove to be a game-changer for the Armed Forces.
