Thane (Maharashtra) [India], October 5 : Launching a scathing attack against the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that it is the most dishonest and corrupt party in the country. He further said that they looters of land, abuse women, and support urban naxals. The PM warned the people, saying that if we get divided, then those who are dividing us will celebrate.
Addressing a public event in Maharashtra's Thane, PM Modi said, "Congress is the most dishonest and corrupt party of the country. A Congress leader caught with drugs in Haryana. They try to find new ways to exploit people. In Himachal Pradesh, they have crossed all limits. They have introduced a new tax called the toilet tax, which is beyond imagination. On one side, I am providing toilets and on the other hand, they are taxing people over toilets. They loot lands and abuse women. Congress is fully exposed today. They are running an urban naxal gang. Congress is openly standing with those who want to halt India's growth."
"They are on a mission to divide the society and come into power. We have to take lessons from the history. We have to stay united. If we get divided, then, those who are dividing us will celebrate (Agar hum batenge toh, baatna wale mehfil sajaenge). Wherever they go, destruction follows. They forced the country into poverty. Other parties who come into their alliance also start to talk about appeasement. Congress disrespects Savarkar. Congress is announcing that they will again bring article 370," he added further.
Taking a dig at Maha Vikas Aghadi, the PM said that they can't tolerate development happening in the state. Adding to that he said, "The first thing they will do once they come in power will be to put a halt on the developmental schemes initiated by CM Shinde."
"Today, every citizen has a single goal - Viksit Bharat. That's why every decision, resolution, and dream of our govt is dedicated to Viksit Bharat. To achieve this goal, we need to make cities like Mumbai and Thane - future-ready. But, for this, we have to do double-labour - 'kyunki hamein vikaas bhi karna hai aur Congress sarkaar ke gaddhon ko bhi bharna hai'," said PM Modi.
"...I am here in Maharashtra with very big news - The central govt has given the Marathi language, the status of a classical language," he announced.
Notably, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects worth over Rs 32,800 crores in Thane. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were also present at the event. The PM also flagged off the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line - 3 worth around Rs 14,120 crores. He laid the foundation stone of the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project to be constructed at the cost of around Rs 12,200 crores.
