"India will become a Vishwaguru under PM Modi's leadership": Shivraj Chouhan
Apr 11, 2024
Dewas (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 11 : Making bold assertions on India's future ahead of the 2024 elections, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Vidisha Lok Sabha seat Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said that India will emerge as a 'Vishwaguru' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
"India will become a 'Vishwaguru' under the leadership of Narendra Modi", Chouhan asserted while addressing a public meeting in Dewas.
He also criticized the Congress, for declining an invitation to attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir, suggesting that this decision would forever taint the Congress's image.
"Everyone was happy when the Ram Mandir was constructed. People made 'Rangoli' and lighted lamps. Congress was also given the invitation for the Pran Pratishtha. They did not have it in their fortune. They gave in writing that they would not visit. This blot will always remain on Congress that they refused to go to the Ram Mandir," Chouhan said.
Earlier, while addressing a press conference in Bhopal, Chouhan took a jibe at Congress and termed it an 'endangered party'.
"Congress and its leaders have been repeatedly saying that democracy and the Constitution are endangered, democracy is not in danger, the Constitution is in safe hands, but if someone is endangered, then it's the Congress party. Congress is going into the trough," Chouhan said.
"The Congress' situation is more like an angry cat scratching at a pole. Rahul Gandhi is making weird statements, like if BJP wins (Lok Sabha polls) the country will be set on fire. Does Congress want to set the country on fire? Does Sonia Gandhi agree with Rahul Gandhi's statement?" the BJP leader asked.
Lok Sabha elections for the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh are scheduled to be held in the first four phases of the total seven phases dated April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13.
