Indian Army holds first-ever dental camp at Siachen Glacier

New Delhi [India], June 24 : The Indian Army organised its first-ever dental camp at a forward post on the Siachen Glacier, officials said.

"A significant milestone was achieved by the Indian Army's Fire and Fury Corps Siachen Base Camp Dental Det by organising the first-ever Dental Camp at a forward post on the Siachen Glacier," Fire and Fury Corps, Indian Army said in a post on X.

The dental camp provided much-needed oral healthcare services, improving the overall well-being of the personnel enduring difficult weather conditions in the highest battlefield, the post added.
The Siachen Glacier is located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas and is often considered the world's highest battlefield.
Earlier on April 13, the Indian Air Force celebrated the 40th anniversary of the famous 'Operation Meghdoot' which was carried out by the Indian forces to gain control of the Siachen glacier by thwarting Pakistan's efforts to capture it.
The operation by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force was carried out on April 13, 1984, in what was one of the biggest operations carried out by the Indian forces.
