New Delhi [India], June 13 : An Indian engineering firm and a German defence major have come together to supply 12 indigenous low-frequency variable depth Sonar systems for an indigenous project.
A subsidiary of the German defence conglomerate Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH partnered with CFF Fluid Control Ltd for the supply of 12 indigenous low-frequency variable depth sonar systems, marking a notable step towards enhancing the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities of the Indian Navy, utilizing indigenous resources and technology.
These towed sonars are being provided for use on Indian Navy Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) vessels via Kolkata-based shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd and Kochi-based Cochin Shipyard Limited.
