Indra Sena Reddy Nallu sworn in as 20th Governor of Tripura

Agartala (Tripura) [India], October 26 : Indra Sena Reddy Nallu was sworn in as the 20th Governor of Tripura at Raj Bhawan on Thursday morning.
The Telangana politician replaced 84-year-old Satyadeo Narain Arya, who had served as the Governor in the Northeastern state since 2021.
Nallu was administered the oath of office by Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court Aparesh Kumar Singh.
Speaking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Nallu said, "I wish to thank the President of India for reposing the responsibility of Tripura Governor on me."
"I would also like to express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for this honour. I promise the people of Tripura the development and implementation of all central programs of the Prime Minister for the benefit of the state," he added.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, and other senior members of his cabinet, as well as top officials of the state administration.
The departing Governor shared a few words with the Chief Minister and wished him and the people of Tripura all the best for the future.
He also thanked the state government and the people of Tripura for their cooperation and hospitality during his tenure.
Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu appointed Raghubar Das as Governor of Odisha, and Indra Sena Reddy Nallu as Governor of Tripura.
An official statement from the President's Secretariat said, "The President of India is pleased to make the following appointments, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu as Governor of Tripura and Raghubar Das as Governor of Odisha."
"The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices," the statement added.
Indra Sena Reddy Nallu is a national secretary of the BJP and has thrice served as an MLA in Andhra Pradesh.
Satyadev Narayan Arya was serving as the 19th governor of Tripura. He is a BJP leader from Bihar and has previously served as a Governor of Haryana.
