Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], August 2 : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his statement on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and said that instead of thinking about himself, he should be worried about the people of Wayanad.
On the tweet of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Instead of talking about ED, he should be worried about the ongoing relief and rescue operations in Wayanad, as it was his parliamentary constituency. People in Wayanad are in grief and deep trouble and he should be with them. He should think about the people right now, not about himself..."
Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that an insider informed him that ED is planning a raid on him. In response to this, Gandhi said that he is waiting with open arms.
In a social media post on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Apparently, 2 in 1 didn't like my Chakravyuh speech. ED 'insiders' tell me a raid is being planned. Waiting with open arms @dir_ed.....Chai and biscuits on me."
Sarma also conveyed the BJP's preparations for upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand and said that BJP should win elections for the better future of Jharkhand.
BJP's co-incharge of Jharkhand for upcoming elections, Sarma said, "I witnessed a lot of enthusiasm in the workers of the party and they have affirmed that we will win the elections and form our government in Jharkhand. The mantra for winning is only to work 24 hours a day, for a better future of Jharkhand, we must win the assembly elections in Jharkhand. We will work hard to win."
Jharkhand will go for the assembly polls in 2025. Along with Jharkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir will also undergo assembly polls. The terms of the existing Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will end in January 2025 and the Election Commission (EC) has kicked off preparations for holding Assembly elections.
In 2019, JMM fought the assembly elections in alliance with the Congress and Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and got a comfortable majority with forty-seven seats in the 81-member house.
