New Delhi [India], December 14 : BJP MP Ravi Kishan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in the Lok Sabha on Saturday, calling it "historic," and stated that it offered a clear message on the government's vision for India.
"It was a historic speech. The opposition must learn how a speech should be given... PM Narendra Modi's decency is the talk of the day," the BJP MP said.
He highlighted the Prime Minister's approach, focusing on welfare schemes benefiting women, youth, tribal communities, and the poor, and further noting that the 11 promises made by the Prime Minister would lead India to greater achievements.
"This speech sent out a message to women, youth, tribal communities, and the poor, who are the key recipients of the Prime Minister's welfare schemes. His 11 promises indicate that he is taking the country to even greater heights... India will become a developed nation much before 2047 and soon become the third largest economy in the world," he stated.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented eleven pledges for India's bright future in his speech during the discussion in Lok Sabha on 75 years of the Constitution and said the government and people should follow their duties and the country's politics should be free of "parivarvad."
The Prime Minister presented the 11 pledges towards the end of his speech in Lok Sabha. He laid stress on inclusive development and zero tolerance for corruption. He wished that the 75th year of the adoption of the Constitution would give more strength to the people's commitment towards their duties.
Meanwhile, BJP MP PP Chaudhary criticised the Nehru-Gandhi family stating that they had always opposed reservation policies.
He referred to Rahul Gandhi's comments on SC/ST reservation during his trip to the US, which he claimed aligned with Jawaharlal Nehru's views.
"Nehru and Gandhi's family were always against reservation...Even in the USA, Rahul Gandhi showed that he carries the DNA of Jawaharlal Nehru when he said SC/ST reservation should be abolished in India. And then these people talk about the Constitution... Rahul Gandhi's philosophy is beyond my understanding," Chaudhary said.
Earlier, PM Modi, during his speech, also criticised the manipulation of this system through vote-bank politics, launching a strong attack on the Congress, claiming that they had hijacked the reservation system, using it for political gain.
"However, vote-bank politics hijacked this system. Some people attempted to manipulate reservations based on religion and appeasement...Notably, the victims of such sins were SC, ST, and OBC communities," he added.
