J-K Police seize properties worth Rs 2 crore belonging to drug smuggler in Bishnah

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 3 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police, continuing its action against drug peddlers, confiscated properties worth Rs 2 crores of a notorious drug smuggler in Jammu on Monday, said police.
The accused was identified as Chirag Attri, alias Chetan, a resident of Chak Jaralan village in Bishnah Tehsil of district Jammu.
The said drug smuggler is a habitual, repeated offender and several NDPS cases have been registered against him in the past. He has been recently detained under PIT NDPS. The seized properties include two houses and a car.
The properties were identified as illegally acquired properties during the course of investigation conducted by the police. The properties were, prima facie, acquired from the proceeds of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.
Presently, the said notorious drug peddler is detained under PIT NDPS Act issued by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
Police have urged people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that any person found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with strictly as per law.
