Jacob Elordi to play next 'Elvis Presley' in new Sofia Coppola film 'Priscilla'

Washington [US], September 14 : 'The Kissing Booth' star Jacob Elordi has been cast as Elvis Presley in the upcoming Sofia Coppola film 'Priscilla,' and is cast alongside Cailee Spaeny, who will play Priscilla Presley.
According to Fox News, the movie will detail Priscilla's intimate relationship with Elvis and is based on her 1985 memoir 'Elvis & Me.' The book went on to achieve popularity on a global scale and became a 'New York Times' bestseller.
As per Variety, with Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi slated to play Presley and Elvis, respectively, Coppola scripted and will direct the motion picture titled 'Priscilla.'
While Vision Distribution is in charge of distribution in Italy, where it will subsequently become a Sky exclusive, A24 will handle distribution in North America. Distribution for the remainder of the world will be handled by Stage 6 Films/Sony Pictures International Releasing.
Following 'On the Rocks' and 'The Bling Ring,' 'Priscilla' is Coppola and A24's third joint production. The partners are also working on a television series adaption of "The Custom of the Country" by Edith Wharton.
Coppola will reunite for the film with some of her longstanding associates, including production designer Tamara Deverell, editor Sarah Flack, cinematographer Philippe Le Sourd, and costume designer Stacey Battat.
Coppola co-produces the movie with Youree Henley, Lorenzo Mieli of The Apartment, a Fremantle Company, and American Zoetrope in addition to writing and directing it. The Apartment and Sony's Stage 6 Films are responsible for funding the production.
The most recent actors to play Elvis and Priscilla Presley on screen are Elordi and Spaeny. Austin Butler and Olivia DeJonge portrayed Elvis in the Warner Bros. historical musical drama 'Elvis' this year.
According to Fox News, after the Baz Luhrmann Elvis biopic titled 'Elvis,' which will be released in the summer of 2022, comes "Priscilla," which will be filmed in Toronto. The movie, which starred Austin Butler as the King, received Priscilla's seal of approval.
Elvis and Priscilla were married from 1967 till 1973. Priscilla assisted in the founding of Elvis Presley Enterprises, which turned Graceland into a popular tourist destination when Elvis passed away there in 1977.
