JMM has no organisation, leaders, candidate for state Assembly election: BJP MP Deepak Prakash
Oct 22, 2024
New Delhi [India], October 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Deepak Prakash on Tuesday took a dig at Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) after three party leaders from the Jharkhand unit joined the ruling party. He said that JMM neither has an organisation in place nor leaders as the ruling party remains dependent on such leaders whose names were not even considered by the BJP for upcoming elections.
While speaking to ANI, former Jharkhand BJP chief Prakash said that JMM does not have its candidates and this is why they rely on such BJP leaders who were not even considered fit to get the party ticket for the assembly elections.
"I want to say that the candidate of BJP who has a lotus Symbol in his hand and the candidate of NDA are desired by the people of Jharkhand and only they will get victory in the upcoming state assembly election" he added.
Prakash further said that the INDIA Alliance in Jharkhand including JMM, Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is an alliance of selfishness. "They neither have any idea nor vision for the progress of the four crore people of Jharkhand. They are only working to increase the financial resources of their family," the BJP leader said.
"I want to remind the people of Jharkhand that the name of the party who sold the Jharkhand movement is JMM. The name of the party that purchased the Jharkhand movement is the Congress Party. The party that said that Jharkhand would be formed on our dead bodies is RJD. So the alliance of INDIA block is completely unnatural and after losing the Jharkhand Assembly election, this alliance will completely disintegrate," he added.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) recently announced dates for the Jharkhand assembly elections, which will be held on November 13 and 20 in two phases. The results will be declared on November 23, along with Maharashtra.
BJP has announced 66 Candidates for the state Assembly election out of 68 Seats and remaining seats allies of BJP under the banner of NDA will contest the election on a total of 81 seats. Congress party also released the first list of 21 candidates on Monday for Jharkhand assembly polls.
Prominent names include state Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, senior party leader Ajoy Kumar and Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta. Rameshwar Oraon will contest from the Lohardaga (ST) seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes, Banna Gupta from Jamshedpur West and Ajoy Kumar from Jamshedpur East.
