Apr 01, 2024
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 1 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav slammed former CM and Congress leader Kamal Nath on Monday, alleging that the latter had caused huge "damage" to Chhindwara.
The Congress has fielded Kamal Nath's son, Nakul Nath, from the Chinndwara constituency for the Lok Sabha polls.
Mohan Yadav's statement came after former Congress leader Vikram Ahake joined the BJP. The Chief Minister claimed that Vikram Ahake joined the BJP due to the objectionable comments passed on to the tribal communities by Kamal Nath and his son.
"Kamal Nath has done a lot of damage to Chhindwara. His son and Congress leader Nakul Nath passed objectionable comments on the tribal communities. Hurt by this, he (Vikram Ahake) decided he did not want to remain in Congress, where tribals are not respected. I assure everyone that we will do our best for development in Chhindwara," the Chief Minister said.
State BJP President VD Sharma also welcomed Vikram Ahake to the BJP and said, "I welcome Mayor Vikram Ahake and all the other leaders who join the BJP. Kamal Nath has been exposed in Chhindwara. In the reports of the IT department, everyone is corrupt in the Congress office. The people of Chhindwara have decided to put the BJP in power in the upcoming elections. People will answer them (the Congress) in the upcoming polls after their comments on tribal communities."
Earlier, Congress leader Syed Jafar, a close aide of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, joined the BJP.
Jafar took the membership of the BJP party in the presence of CM Mohan Yadav, VD Sharma and others at the state BJP office in Bhopal. Jafar had been Congress State General Secretary, Congress Media Vice President and state spokesperson of the party.
The election will be held here in Chhindwara in the first phase on April 19 with five other parliamentary seats which include Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla and Balaghat in the state. Chhindwara is the only seat which the Congress won in 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.
