Mandya (Karnataka) [India], August 6 : Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar along with other ministers of the state joined the Congress' 'Jan Andolan Yatra' bike rally in the Mandya district of Karnataka on Tuesday to expose the scams done by the previous BJP-led in Karnataka including irregularities of Rs 87 crore in the Bhovi corporation.
Congress 'Jan Andolan Yatra' is to counter BJP padyatra highlighting the alleged MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) scam involving Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah's wife BM Parvathi.
Reportedly, in the rally of 'Jan Andolan Yatra', Deputy CM DK Shivakumar played a video where opposition leaders including HD Kumaraswamy and BS Yediyurappa were scolding and making statements against each other.
In response to the video, DK Shivakumar slammed the opposition leaders HD Kumaraswamy and BS Yediyurappa and said I wanted to show the public what they said about each other.
On video showing previous statements made by opposition leaders including HD Kumaraswamy and BS Yediyurappa at Congress' 'Jan Andolan Yatra', Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, "They (BJP) think that we are saying it for a political reason...We showed what they had spoken. Kumaraswamy had said that he would see that the PM gives sanction to the Mekedatu Project within 5 minutes...I wanted to show the public what Yediyurappa spoke on Kumaraswamy, what Kumaraswamy spoke on BJP and the PM..."
Notably, it is the fourth day of the BJP-JDS's Padayatra which started against the alleged illegal activities of the Congress-ruled government since they came to power in the state.
JDS State Youth Unit President Nikhil Kumaraswamy said that the JDS and BJP have started this padayatra regarding the alleged MUDA scam and the corruption that has taken place in Valmiki for the developmental works.
Speaking with ANI, he said, "Today, we have all started this padayatra regarding the alleged MUDA scam and the corruption that has taken place in Valmiki for the developmental works. Karnataka CM himself has accepted on the floor that Rs. 89 crore has been wrongly utilised."
Further, he stated that today marks the fourth day of the padayatra, which will come to an end on Saturday.
"Today, we are entering the fourth day of the padayatra, and we will be ending it on Saturday in Neerghata. On Saturday, we will hold a big rally and a big 'Samavesha' in Mysore. Congress is trying to divert this issue because the state is aware of the MUDA scam and Valmiki corruption that have taken place and they cannot get out of them. However, that is wrong, everyone in Karnataka is very smart," he said.
