Karnataka Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan launches Santvana scheme for helping victims of floods, communal clashes

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 19 : Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan launched the Santvana scheme at a function organised by the Karnataka Minorities Welfare Corporation here on Thursday.
This scheme aims to help the victims of floods, fire mishaps, communal clashes, and natural calamities.
"The minister said this scheme was aimed at giving a loan of Rs 5 lakh to victims of natural calamities and communal clashes to re-build homes and shops. Of the total loan amount of Rs 5 lakh, 50 per cent will be the loan and the rest will be the subsidy. The rate of interest will be 3 per cent. With this money, the victims could start a new business or do other jobs," according to a press release.
He said this scheme would be very helpful for the minority communities families and help them come out of problems
Earlier, the minister took part in the administrative meeting of the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation (KMDC). KMDC MD Nazeer and Department Director Manoj Jain were present.
The meeting was held at the KMDC auditorium. Zameer Ahmed Khan and Planning Minister D Sudhakar discussed the schemes of the Minorities Welfare Department in the meeting.
"Slums Development Board Commissioner Venkatesh, Housing Board Commissioner Kavita Mannikeri, Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Magaging Director Susheelamma, and others were present," as per the release.
