Karnataka SIT arrives at Bhavani Revanna's house for questioning in kidnapping case

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 1 : A Karnataka Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrived on Saturday morning at the Holenarasipura residence of Bhavani Revanna, the mother of suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, for questioning.
Prajwal Revanna who is accused in the obscene video case was arrested from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Friday after his return to the country. A court has sent him to police custody for six days.
Bhavani is accused in the kidnapping case registered under IPC sections 64(A), 365, 109, 120(B).
The SIT had on Friday given a notice to Bhavani Revanna in the kidnapping case.
The SIT has asked Bhavani to be available for investigation and questioning at her Holenarasipura house on June 1.
Earlier, Bhavani had filed an anticipatory bail in the kidnapping case in which her husband HD Revanna was arrested.
Bhavani had moved the Karnataka High Court seeking relief from arrest by the SIT.
Her husband, HD Revanna was arrested earlier in connection with the kidnapping case on April 29 and granted conditional bail by a special court for people's representatives.
The case, registered on April 28 at the Holenarasipura town police station, involves allegations of sexual assault by Revanna and his son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, against their house help.
The Special Court of People's Representatives in Bengaluru on Friday granted the SIT six-day custody of Prajwal Revanna in connection with the alleged obscene video case.
Revanna was produced before Justice KN Shivakumar of the Special Court of People's Representatives in Bengaluru earlier today as the SIT sought 14-day custody of Revanna.
The Hassan MP was arrested by the SIT on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday upon his arrival at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. He was later produced before City Civil Court after his medical examination at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Bengaluru.
Prajwal Revanna had returned to India from Germany nearly a month after leaving the country supposedly on the night of April 26 after several obscene videos allegedly involving him surfaced on social media platforms.
Revanna is facing a probe by the SIT over allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint by a woman who worked as a domestic help at his house.
