Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 23 : Mentioning the incident of killing of seers, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday said that any incidents have taken place in Rajasthan and alleged that these killings are being done as part of a conspiracy.
Addressing a press conference in Jaipur, Union minister Shekhawat said that the crimes in the state against Hindu seers in Rajasthan have increased and the common man is not safe in the state.
"In Rajasthan's Dausa a Hindu seer was killed, he was beaten up so badly .... This is not the single incident that took place, earlier in Rajasthan two dozen seers were killed. In Alwar, a Hindu seer was killed after he was beaten up by a rod on his head and we have not forgotten that incident yet. There are many incidents that have taken place in the state. The common man is not safe in the state," he alleged.
"With the intention of boosting the morale of a particular community and lowering the morale of the majority community, these killings are being done as part of a conspiracy," he added.
He further alleged that the Gehlot government has put restrictions on Hindu festivals like Garba events during Navratri, but allowed PFI demonstrations with security.
"On one side, the Gehlot government put restrictions on Hindu festivals like Garba events during Navratri but allowed PFI demonstrations with security. They are definitely gonna lose these elections and it is clear that BJP will win in Rajasthan with huge majority," he said.
Rajasthan assembly polls will be held on November 25. The 200-member house will go to polls in single-phase.
The counting of votes will take place on December 3, coinciding with the other four states: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
In the 2018 assembly elections in Rajasthan, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member house. Ashok Gehlot came to power with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.
