Kumaraswamy's administration is family-centered, and my administration is people-centered: DCM DK Shivakumar

Channapatna (Karnataka) [India], September 21 : Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday hailed the Siddaramiah led state government calling it 'people-centred' while criticising the former CM H D Kumaraswamy's administration, saying it 'was family-centred'.
Addressing the public, after laying the foundation stone for several government projects at Adil Shah grounds, Shivakumar said, "We have laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 500 crore in the last three months. The people of the taluk are not hearing about these developments but are also witnessing them. The officials and ministers are coming to your doorstep to attend to your needs. The previous MLA has abandoned Channapatna while my relationship with Channapatna is the one between God and devotee."
"We are writing the foreword of development for Channapatna. We have decided to make Channapatna a golden land. As many as 27,000 people have given us applications, of which 18,000 are seeking houses and sites. We have identified 170 acres to distribute sites in the taluk and are in the process of buying an additional 150 acres for the same," he added.
Shivakumar said that local corporators are getting 'threats' and Congress will ensure their safety.
"Ours is people-centred politics while Kumaraswamy's is family-centred politics. No one is permanent in politics. There are many local corporators who have joined the Congress and we will take care of them. I heard they are getting threats," he said.
"We would love to issue sites or houses to all the applicants. Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed has agreed to sanction 5000 houses. He has also favoured sanctioning 500 square feet homes rather than sites," he added.
Speaking about the upcoming by-polls in Karnataka, Shivakumar said, "Kumaranna has to answer the people of Channapatna. The people of the taluk made you the Chief Minister but you did not pay the debt back. Now, you don't have the moral right to seek votes. I am not going to talk about ticket allocations for the by-election. I am the candidate. Please support whoever I give the ticket to as the KPCC President."
"I have come here to serve you, not to rule you. I want to pay back my debts to the people of the taluk. Many people have joined our party and many more will soon. I would like to do good for the people of the taluk," he added
