Kupwara prospered a lot in last three years: J-K LG Manoj Sinha

Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 6 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha who is on a two-day visit to Kupwara said that the district has prospererd a lot in the last three years.
"In the last three years, Kupwara district has developed and people are benefitting from government schemes. If I talk about law enforcement, I can say that the common man is living peacefully," Sinha said speaking to reporters on Friday.
Speaking about development in the agriculture sector Manoj Sinha said, "There has been significant development in the agriculture and allied sector. In terms of agricultural produce or milk production it has become a surplus district. Walnut production has also been good."
"As per the holistic agricultural plan, we will make sure that high density plantation takes place and the 70 per cent of the population who are dependent on agriculture live happily," he added.
Talking about infrastructure development in the district, the Lieutenant Governor said, "Eight remaining villages as per the 2011 census will be linked with roads on priority. There has been significant improvement in the distribution and transmission sector as well as tourism."
Highlighting other development works in Kupwara, the LG said, "Medical college has been started. Work on roads, electricity and piped water connection is taking place at a high pace over here."
Speaking on the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Mission, Sinha said, "By 31 December the Har Ghar Jal mission will be completed. 70 per cent of the work has already been completed."
On the PM Awas Yojana, the LG said, "More than 9000 people have been provided with houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana."
The LG also paid a visit to the 28 Infantry Division in Kupwara and the Vajr Gatha Museum and Exhibition Centreon Thursday.
"Paid homage to the brave sons of Maa Bharti at Vajr War Memorial, HQ 28 Infantry Division Kupwara. The courage, valour, dedication and spirit of our brave soldiers to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the nation is unparalleled," Sinha said in a post on 'X'.
"Visited Vajr Gatha Museum and Exhibition Centre, which is a living testament of sacrifice, devotion and zeal of the Jawans of our army. The presence of our valiant jawans, officers on the border inspires the people to work with dedication to build Viksit Bharat," he said in another post.
