"Lok Sabha Speaker should suspend Mahua...": Ramdas Athawale
Oct 20, 2023
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 20 : Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Thursday demanded suspension of TMC MP Mahua Moitra over the alleged 'Cash for Query' scandal and said that if Mahua Moitra has done this work of taking money to ask questions, then the investigation should be done.
Ramdas Athawale said, "This type of attitude is not good. If Mahua Moitra has done this work of taking money to ask questions, then the investigation should be done. Lok Sabha Speaker should suspend her. This is a serious matter."
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Ethics Vinod Sonkar on Friday assured that the Committee will reach a conclusion after examining everything related to the 'Cash for Query' scandal.
Vinod Sonkar further informed that the meeting of the Ethics Committee has been called on October 26 where TMC MP Mahua Moitra will be also examined and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey will also be asked to be present with the evidence.
Ramdas Athawale also said that the opposition INDI alliance, which was formed to defeat PM Modi, will themselves get defeated.
He said, "Akhilesh Yadav is the National President of the Samajwadi Party... He has been CM of Uttar Pradesh and is an important partner of the India Alliance. The Samajwadi Party also works in some states. He had said to Congress that they should get some seats, but Congress denied it. So Akhilesh Yadav is upset over this. I have doubts that cracks can be formed in the INDI alliance, and some parties may come out of it. If unity is not there in seat sharing, then there is a possibility of breaking. The opposition's alliance, which was formed to defeat PM Modi, will themselves get defeated."
After Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at Congress for not sharing seats in Assembly polls, Madhya Pradesh BJP President VD Sharma hit out at the grand old party and the INDI alliance and said that Akhilesh Yadav has exposed the INDI Alliance that Congress has no status in Madhya Pradesh.
VD Sharma said, "Akhilesh Yadav has exposed the INDI Alliance. He said that Congress has no status in Madhya Pradesh. He also said that he doesn't want to talk to the '2 kaudi ke netaon' (worthless leader) of Congress. This is the condition of the people of the Madhya Pradesh Congress and INDI alliance."
Earlier, Yadav, upset over Congress "turning its back" on seat-sharing in Madhya Pradesh, said, "I want to tell the Congress, don't talk about our party through your 'chirkut' leaders'" referring to Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai.
