LS polls: Ayodhya gearing up to welcome PM Modi for roadshow tomorrow

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 4 : Preparations are on in full swing at Ayodhya to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will be holding a road show in the temple city on Sunday evening.
"We are fulfilling all duties based on the security norms of VVIPs. Based on directions from the top, we have divided the area into zones, sectors and sub-sectors," Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raj Karan Nayyar said.
"We are preparing ourselves. We have briefed our forces, we are also briefing them at their duty points to make sure they know about their responsibilities at the places where they have been assigned," Nayyar added.
PM Modi's road show of about 2 kilometres on Ram Path will start from Sugriva Fort and continue till Lata Chowk. The route of the roadshow has been divided into 40 blocks, in which Sindhis, Punjabis, farmers and women in traditional costumes will attend. Cultural programs will be held at various places on the route and flowers will be showered during the roadshow.
"Tomorrow PM Modi will have darshan of Lord Ram and will hold a historic roadshow here. People in Ayodhya are eager to welcome him. All residents, party workers of Ayodhya Rajpath are preparing to welcome him. They are preparing to attend the rally. PM Modi will be welcomed in a historic manner and a historic roadshow wil be held. This message will be conveyed to the nation and to the entire world," Ayodhya MLA Ved Prakash Gupta said.
Speaking about the preparation, Gupta said, "Around 80 blocs have been made and in those blocs, people from every community- Sikhs, Sindhis, lawyers, doctors, and intellectuals will be attending. There are women, students, and media- people from every sector of society are eager to welcome him."
Ayodhya's gate number 11 has been decorated with flowers and party flags are being erected. Along with the police, Anti Terror Squad (ATS) commandos are monitoring all preparations. Security at the airport has also been beefed up.
Notably, Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for another round of voting as the third phase of the ongoing general elections approaches. Scheduled for May 7, this phase will see ten Lok Sabha constituencies heading to the polls. These include Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Bareilly, and Aonla.
