Madhya Pradesh: Indore Airport receives bomb threat on e-mail, probe underway

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 6 : Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport located in Madhya Pradesh's Indore received a bomb threat email on Saturday night following which the police registered an FIR.
The mail sender also threatened to blow up other airports in the country.
"We received a threat email yesterday night. In the email sent, he threatened to blow up other airports also. Acting on the application received from the airport security people of the CISF, we have registered an FIR and our objective is very clear that we will get to the bottom of this," said Additional Commissioner of Police, Amit Singh.
Notably, this is the fourth time this year that Indore Airport has received a bomb threat. It is being told that the threat was received on the email ID of the airport authority. Even this time, the threatener has used the dark web.
"Our technical teams are currently working to check who are the people behind this work. We are also on alert and are constantly in coordination with the airport authority. As of now, we have not found anything," Singh added.
On Friday, Vadodara Airport in Gujarat received a bomb threat via email. ACP Vadodara GB Bambhaniya said that all concerned departments were alerted about the threat that was received.
Inner and outer areas of the airport were thoroughly checked by dog squads. A joint meeting was called by the Airport Authority in which the Central Intelligence Bureau, state intelligence Bureau and police took part.
The Commissioner of Police has handed over the case to the Cyber Crime Team for further probe, added ACP Vadodara.
ACP Vadodara, GB Bambhaniya said, "... The airport received a threatening e-mail yesterday. All departments were alerted. Inner and outer areas of the airport were thoroughly checked by dog squads... Commissioner of Police has handed over the case to the Cyber Crime Team for further investigation..."
Security has been strengthened in loop areas, he said.
