Madhya Pradesh: PM Modi recalls old days of working with Chouhan in parliament, says "want to take him with me again"

Harda (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 25 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday recalled the old days of working with former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan in parliament and said that he wanted to take the latter with him again.
PM Modi made the remark while addressing a public gathering in Harda district under the jurisdiction of Betul parliamentary seat.
"The third phase of voting is on May 7 and our candidate from Vidisha is Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Durgadas Uikey is contesting from Betul seat. Shivraj Singh Chouhan and I used to work together in the organisation. When Shivraj ji was CM, I was also the CM. When he was in Parliament, I used to work with him as General Secretary. Now I want to take him with me again," Modi said.
Appreciating BJP nominee Uikey, the PM said that Uikey has been a good companion of him in the Parliament and he used to take care of his small things.
Betul and Vidisha will go to the polls in the third phase on May 7 with seven other parliamentary seats in the state. Uikey is a sitting MP from the Betul parliamentary seat who is contesting again from the seat.
On the other hand, Chouhan has been MP from Vidisha constituency five times before becoming the chief minister of the state. Now, Chouhan is contesting for the six time from Vidisha constituency in the LS polls 2024.
Polling for the Lok Sabha in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted in four phases, with the next three phases of voting scheduled for April 26, May 7 and May 13. The counting of votes has been scheduled for June 4.
Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, making it the sixth-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved.
