Madhya Pradesh: Polling parties dispatched with EVMs to booths for third phase of Lok Sabha elections

Bhopal/Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 6 : Polling parties on Monday were dispatched along with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to the polling stations for the third phase of Lok Sabha election 2024 to be held on Tuesday, May 7.
A total of nine parliamentary constituencies in the state--Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal, Rajgarh and Betul--will go to the polls in the third phase of the LS polls tomorrow.
The teams, along with the polling materials and EVMs, left from Lal Parade Ground in the state capital, Bhopal for the 2097 polling stations of the Bhopal parliamentary seat.
Bhopal Collector and District Election Officer Kaushlendra Vikram Singh took stock of the election material distribution site in the morning.
Similarly, the polling team left polling materials from Maharani Laxmi Bai Government College of Excellence (MLB College) in Gwalior for 1680 booths in the Gwalior parliamentary seat.
Gwalior DM Ruchika Chauhan told ANI, "1680 polling parties are leaving for 1680 booths and sector officers and reserved officers are also leaving for the booths. We have marked around 470-471 booths as critical. This is a dynamic figure, it keeps changing. Proper arrangements for security were made at all these locations.
"We also have more than 100 model booths in our district. There are 75 booths that are completely managed by women. Six booths are such that will be managed completely by specially-abled agents," she added.
Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh are being conducted in four phases. The first phase of polling was held on April 19 and the second phase was concluded on April 26.
The next two phases will be conducted on May 7 and May 13. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
With 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, Madhya Pradesh ranks sixth among all states in terms of its representation in the Lower House. Of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved.
