Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde highlights ongoing infrastructure projects at NITI Aayog meeting

New Delhi [India], July 27 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday highlighted the infrastructure projects going on in the state and welfare schemes at the 9th NITI Aayog meeting.
The 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in the national capital.
Speaking with the reporters, Shinde said, "An important meeting of the NITI Aayog was held on what to do for Viksit Bharat in 2047 and how to take the country forward. I also informed about the infrastructure projects going on in the state. Today, we have created a ministry for the disabled, transgenders. The Maharashtra government informed about its welfare schemes, said that farmers using electric pumps for agriculture have their electricity bills waived."
The Maharashtra CM further said, "PM Modi said in his speech that the river linking project should be done so that where there is less water, they will get justice. Many important suggestions came from Chief Ministers as well as the Prime Minister..."
Shinde also lauded the central government and said, "Today, the economy of our country is getting stronger. We have come at number five out of eleven, we are going to come at number three. Today this country is moving towards becoming an economic superpower and hence all the states should keep this in mind..."
PM Modi during the meeting of NITI Aayog emphasised on cooperation and collective effort of all States and the Centre to work together in order to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
He also observed that India has achieved steady growth in the past ten years. Indian economy, which was ranked 10th largest economy in the world in 2014, has risen to become the 5th largest economy by 2024. He added that now the collective aim of the government and all citizens is to become the third largest economy in the world.
This year's NITI Aayog meeting theme, 'Viksit Bharat@2047,' focuses on making India a developed nation, with discussions centered on approach paper for the vision document on Viksit Bharat @2047.
