Sakoli (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 : Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on Tuesday rode on a bullock cart to file his nomination papers from the Sakoli Assembly constituency for the upcoming Assembly elections on November 20.
Patole filed his nomination papers and predicted that the change of power in Maharashtra is certain.
"You can see the enthusiasm among people here. Maharashtra government and the Central government are against the farmers, the poor, and women and also against reservation. Change of power in Maharashtra is certain. We will waive the loans of farmers. The safety of women is a priority for us. Giving employment to the youth and decreasing inflation is our duty," Maharashtra Congress Chief said.
Patole earlier exuded confidence that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), of which Congress is a part, will form government in the state.
"People in huge numbers are coming to file the nomination papers. People celebrate it like a festival. This election will be one-sided and MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) will form government in the state," he said.
Opposition MVA, comprising of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SP), is looking to regain power in the state against the Mahayuti alliance, which comprises Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
