Maharashtra governor CP Radhakrishnan pays tribute to Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, and Annabhau Sathe

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 1 : Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan paid tributes to Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, and Annabhau Sathe on the first day of his work.
CP Radhakrishnan offered floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Vidhan Bhavan complex on the first day of his work since taking charge as the Governor of Maharashtra on Thursday, August 1.
The governor also offered floral tribute to Lokmanya Tilak on the occasion of the Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi.
Notably, August 1 has been celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lok Shahir Annabhau Sathe. On this occasion, the governor garlanded the portrait of Annabhau Sathe and offered his floral tributes to him. Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar, Legislature Secretary Jitendra Bhole and other officials were present at the event.
Earlier on Wednesday, CP Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai, succeeding Governor Ramesh Bais, whose term came to an end.
Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, administered the oath of office to Radhakrishnan at the Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, in Mumbai.
Radhakrishnan became the 21st Governor of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar welcomed the Governor by presenting him him bouquets after the ceremony.
Before that, State Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik read out the Warrant of Appointment for the appointment of CP Radhakrishnan issued by the President of India Droupadi Murmu. The oath-taking ceremony began with the rendition of the National Anthem and the State Song by the Police Band. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar, former CM Narayan Rane, DGP Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, ACS Protocol Manisha Mhaiskar and invitees were among those present on the occasion.
