Buldhana (Maharashtra) [India], November 10 : Union Minister of State (MoS) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse on Sunday exuded confidence in Mahayuti alliance's win in the upcoming Assembly election in Maharashtra, saying that the popularity of the state government's schemes will help the alliance's candidates to win with a thumping majority.
"I sincerely hope that the Mahayuti government will be formed this time too. During the tenure of the last two and half years, the government has brought schemes for the people which have reached every household. Every candidate of the Mahayuti will get the benefit of it," Khadse told ANI.
She alleged that the Maha Vikas Akhadi alliance's manifesto contains the schemes of the Mahayuti government, adding that when MVA was in power they had done nothing for the development of the state.
"The MVA's manifesto contains all the work done by the Mahayuti government. Before we formed the government, they were in power in the state. During that time, they did not do any work. So now they think that if they put our work in their manifesto, people will vote for them. But I think the people are smart. People know all this," she said.
She said that due to the Ladli Behna Scheme, the women in large numbers will vote for the Mahayuti. She also alleged that Congress has a history of not fullfilling its poll promises.
"Women know that if the Mahayuti government comes to power again, then they will continue to benefit from the Ladli Behna Scheme. The Congress made many promises in the past. But when they were in power it could not fulfil a single promise," she said.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday slammed the MVA saying that the Congress party did not fulfil the guarantees it gave in the states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana.
He further added that Maha Vikas Aghadi's guarantee is a guarantee of lies, corruption, and appeasement.
"...Maha Vikas Aghadi has given a lot of guarantees. Rahul Gandhi was angry with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge because he spoke the truth and said that only those promises should be made which can be fulfilled. The Congress party did not fulfil the guarantees it gave in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. Maha Vikas Aghadi's guarantee is a guarantee of lies, corruption, appeasement..." said the Union Home Minister while addressing a public rally in Maharashtra's Buldhana.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with votes for all 288 constituencies to be counted on November 23.
The opposition MVA coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), seeks to reclaim power in the state, challenging the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
