Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 29 : BJP National President JP Nadda on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and claimed that the TMC chief "does not trust the Constitution or law and wants to save her position by putting the nation in trouble."
Speaking with ANI, JP Nadda on Mamata Banerjee's statement to go to the higher court against the Calcutta High Court's order of cancellation of OBC certificates, said, "Mamata Banerjee doesn't trust the Constitution, rule, or law. She is ready for the partition of the nation through appeasement but is not ready to lose her post. She wants to save her position by putting this country in trouble."
Stepping up his attacks on West Bengal CM, Nadda claimed that she is nurturing the intruders who came from Bangladesh. "She (Mamata Banerjee) is making their ration card. She is changing the demography of West Bengal... And saying things like this means that she just wants to save her chair is putting the nation in trouble."
The BJP chief also spoke about the law and order in the state and said, "I would say that there is no law and order in West Bengal. Take the case of Sandeshkhali. On January 5, the case came to light and in April, the case came to CBI and then Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested. Is this law?"
Notably, multiple women in Sandeshkhali accused TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh of "land grabbing" and "sexual assault." Following this, the strongman leader was suspended from the party for six years.
Nadda also expressed his confidence in winning the elections and asserted that the people of the state will not remain behind in making Narendra Modi Prime Minister for the third time. "I have come here for the fourth time and the enthusiasm and happiness that I am seeing in West Bengal clearly says that the people here will not stay behind in making Narendra Modi PM for the third time."
He added further, "BJP is going to win more than 30 seats in West Bengal."
Meanwhile, JP Nadda also took to his official X handle and posted about his roadshow in West Bengal. He said, "The enthusiasm of the people of South Kolkata during our roadshow was exceptional."
Taking a jibe at Mamata Banerjee, he said, "Mamata Didi has no trust in the constitution, rule of law, or judicial system. The TMC government gives reservations in an unconstitutional manner based on religion to the minority. The TMC government aims to change the demography by providing support to infiltrators and putting the safety and security of the country at stake for its appeasement politics."
He added further, "The massive turnout at the roadshow demonstrates that the people of West Bengal are determined to support PM Narendra Modi for bringing about positive changes and ensuring a safe environment to live in."
Polling in Kolkata North, along with Basirhat, Barasat, Diamond Harbour, Dum Dum, Jaynagar, Jadavpur, Kolkata South and Mathurapur, will be held in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha election on June 1 in West Bengal. The vote counting will take place on June 4.
