Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 9 : A 45-year-old man was shot dead over a family dispute in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district, an official said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the Dullapur locality under the jurisdiction of Thatipur police station limits on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, said Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, City Superintendent of Police (CSP).
"A 45-year-old man was shot dead in the Dullapur area under Thatipur police station last night at around 12 am following a family dispute. After the incident, the victim's family lodged a police complaint in which a case was registered against a total of nine people," CSP Sikarwar told ANI.
The accused and complainant are relatives and live nearby in the same village. To maintain the peace in the area, police teams were deployed, he added.
"The complainant demanded from the police that the house of the accused should be demolished, so it is being discussed with the Municipal Corporation and Revenue Officer. The complainants also said that the accused had a licensed .315 bore weapon and the same was used in the incident. Though it will be known from the FSL team once it is seized," the officer said.
The complainants had also blocked the road and had given an application in which they had put forward their demands. Looking at the demands, they have been given assurance that whatever legal demands are there, it will be followed. The road blockade was removed and the situation went back to normal, CSP Sikarwar said.
He added that the body was sent for cremation and teams were formed to nab the accused.
