Washington [US], August 11 : American actress and singer McKenna Grace will co-star with Allison Williams in 'Regretting You', an indie adaptation of the 2019 novel from 'It Ends with Us' writer Colleen Hoover, reported Deadline.
The announcement coincides with the theatrical release of Sony's 'It Ends With Us' adaptation, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The indie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Regretting You is all set to star McKenna Grace alongside Allison Williams. The adaptation is set to be helmed by The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone, from a script penned by Susan McMartin.
Grace appeared in the films 'I, Tonya' (2017), 'Troop Zero' (2019), and 'Captain Marvel' (2019). She also starred in several horror projects, including 'The Bad Seed' (2018), 'The Haunting of Hill House' (2018), and 'Annabelle Comes Home' (2019).
Written by Susan McMartin, with Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) aboard to direct, 'Regretting You' focuses on Morgan Grant's (Williams) difficult connection with her daughter, Clara. Morgan became a mother at an early age, putting her own goals on waiting to raise Clara. Clara's connection deteriorates when she reaches adolescence, particularly after Chris, Morgan's husband and Clara's father, is killed in a horrific accident.
The project hails from Constantin Film, whose Robert Kulzer is set to produce, along with Brunson Green and Anna Todd.
Grace was most recently seen in Sony's 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire'. Other past credits include Friend of the Family and Searchlight's Gifted, reported Deadline.
