Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare excels in public grievance resolution

New Delhi [India], October 13 : The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has made significant strides in resolving public grievances, according to the 17 Monthly Report on Centralized Public Grievances Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) released by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) for September 2023.
In September 2023, the DA&FW received a remarkable 11,198 public grievances, making it the department with the highest number of public complaints in the month, read the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare press release.
Within Group A, which encompasses departments handling more than 500 grievances, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare emerged as the top performer in the Grievance Redressal Assessment and Index for September 2023.
The CPGRAMS has been successfully integrated with the Common Service Centre (CSC) portal, where the DA&FW received the maximum number of grievances.
During September 2023, the department received a significant 5,167 grievances through the CSCs, which accounts for approximately 46.14 per cent of the total grievances received, read the press release
In September 2023, out of a total of 11,585 grievances (including 387 carried forward from the previous month), the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare disposed of 8,830 grievances, leaving 2,755 grievances pending as of September 30.
From January to September 2023, the department received a total of 100,832 grievances, consisting of 5,145 carried forward from December 31, 2022, and 95,687 new grievances. The DA&FW achieved a disposal rate of 97 per cent during this period, read the press release.
These achievements underscore the department's commitment to addressing public grievances promptly and efficiently, ensuring that the concerns and issues of farmers and individuals associated with agriculture are resolved in a timely manner.
