MP: Around 4000 farmers take our tractor rally in Ujjain demanding to increase Soybean MSP at Rs 6000 a quintal

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 16 : Around 4000 farmers took out a massive tractor rally in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district on Monday in protest against the state and central government over the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Soybean and demanded to increase the rate at Rs 6000 a quintal.
The farmers began the rally from Hari Pathak Mahakal Bridge near Mahakal Square in the city and reached the collectorate office via Ujjain Krishi Mandi to submit a memorandum to the Ujjain collector.
Thousands of farmers who reached here from various villages gathered over there and made administration aware of their demands.

"Today, the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh has taken out a farmer tractor rally in Ujjain in which around 4000 tractors were brought by the farmers. Our demand is that the MSP of soybean declared by the government at a rate of Rs 4892 a quintal, is like a drop in the ocean. The cost of cultivating Soybean is not being recovered and the soybean crop is being sold at a loss. The farmers demand that the support price should be increased to Rs 6,000 a quintal. For our demand, today, we took out a rally from Hari Phatak bridge to the Collector's office in the city. We demand that the MSP should be declared Rs 6000 a quintal as soon as possible," said Bharat Singh Bais, Prant Mantri of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.
Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh took the memorandum from the farmers and assured them to inform the concerned authority about their demands.
"Bharatiya Kisan Sangh took out a tractor rally in the city today. They also submitted a memorandum in which they had made various demands and it will be sent to the government," Collector Singh said.
Meanwhile, farmers in association with Bhartiya Kisan Sangh also demonstrated in Jabalpur demanding to increase MSP of soybean from Rs 4892 to Rs 6000 a quintal. Farmers claimed that they were not able to recover their costs at the current MSP rate.
