Morena (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 20 : A sitting Congress MLA from Sumawali assembly constituency in Morena district, Ajab Singh Kushwaha on Friday evening joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) after the party denied ticket for the forthcoming state assembly polls.
The Congress party announced the name of Kuldeep Sikarwar from the seat in the second list of candidates which was released on Thursday late night.
Earlier in the day, Kushwaha expressed his displeasure over denial of the ticket from the Congress party and vowed to make congress face defeat in all the six assembly seats in the district.
The MLA told ANI, "I am unable to understand why former CM and state congress chief Kamal Nath has cancelled my ticket. I had made the congress emerge victorious from here in the circumstances when the BJP was in power (during 2020 bypoll). Nath should have talked to me once."
He further said that Nath told him about the case against him so he gave Nath the certificate after getting acquitted in the cases. The anger among his supporters was justified.
"I want to tell Kamal Nath that I take a pledge on behalf of my supporters that I will make congress defeat in all six seats in the district. It is my promise," Kushwaha said.
Meanwhile, he also alleged that Leader of Opposition (LoP) Govind Singh opposed him.
"The thing which has come to light before me is that LoP Singh has opposed me. If he wanted to do politics, then he should have done it in his constituency Lahar and in his Bhind district. Politics of Morena and Bhind is different. After the denial of my ticket, the Kshatriya community is angry as well," he added.
When asked about the to contest the elections in the upcoming poll, he said that he did not take any decision to contest elections for the time being and he would decided whatever his supporters say.
Madhya Pradesh is scheduled to undergo assembly polls on November 17 and the counting would be done on December 3.
